Social Worker

A social worker works with people who have been socially excluded or who are experiencing crisis. Their role is to provide support to enable service users to help themselves. They maintain professional relationships with service users, acting as guides, advocates or critical friends.
Social workers work in a variety of settings within a framework of relevant legislation and procedures, supporting individuals, families and groups within the community. Settings may include the service user’s home or schools, hospitals or the premises of other public sector and voluntary organizations. They have to deal with a plethora of distraught people which can sometimes be very hard.

Midwife

Midwives provide advice, care and support for women, their partners and families before, during and after childbirth. They help women make their own decisions about the care and services they access. They care for newborn children, providing health education and parenting support for the first 28 days, after which care transfers to a health visitor.
Midwives are personally responsible for the health of both mother and child and only refer to obstetricians if there are medical complications. They work in multidisciplinary teams in both hospital and, increasingly, community healthcare settings. It can be very stressful to care after newborn babies so often.

Math Professer

Besides just teaching mathematics a university level math professor also participates in many activities on campus. These activities may include working with gifted or exceptional students, sitting on various committees and steering groups for the university, or even publishing research material on an ongoing basis. Most university mathematics professors also interact on a regular basis with colleagues and other mathematics professionals from around the world using various listserves and email programs. Math professors go through a long strenuous amount of schooling to secure a job at a university which in some cases can take years.

T.V. Journalist

A T.V. Journalist's job can be very intense. Television (TV) journalist prepares and reports information to the public on television news programs. This type of journalist may report on location at the scene of a story or from the television station. This can be a competitive industry where employers consider skills, talent, personality and appearance. A journalist's main job duty is investigating and preparing the stories he or she will report, which can include covering events, researching and interviewing people. A journalist may have to report live at the scene of a breaking news story, which requires putting together the information on the spot with little preparation time. Other job duties include working with editors, camera crew and working with other crew members to prepare for the broadcast.

Firefighter

Being a firefighter in Ontario is not easy. All probationary firefighters receive extensive training in the latest firefighting and rescue techniques. Training is provided in handling emergency and medical calls as well as hazardous material situations. Fire prevention legislation and arson investigation techniques are also taught. Firefighters may be involved in Fire Safety Programs such as home inspections, Learn Not To Burn and Childrens Safety. In fact, a firefighter's education is never complete - firefighters are always learning and being kept up-to-date on the latest developments and techniques. Firefighters have to handle intense emotional and mental moments. And deal with death often. Being a firefighter is very hard work.

N.D.P.

If I could vote right now it would be N.D.P. I already know that I am very far left, and I agree with almost all their concepts. More than likely I'm voting for them because that's the way I was brought up. But still I would vote for N.D.P.

Smurfs

I like smurfs! Smurfs are great! If I had a smurf its name would be Charlie! I like the colour Blue! I alos like cake!

The Danger Of Change

Even now it can be dangerous to be something everyone else isn't. Think of how many homosexual people get killed in certain places just because they're gay. Change is good, unfortunately many people can't accept this. It can even be dangerous to be homosexual or of another race in Canada. Many kids still get picked on for things they can't control. Maybe that how it will always be.

Beat This New Heat!

As much as I do love the summer, there must be a stop to the increasing heat! I love swimming, tanning, and being in the sun! But I don't like it when I can barely go outside without wanting to strip bare! Hopefully with this new outrageous amount of heat people will start to pay more attention to how they affect the climate. Or maybe not.

A Comment

I would like to say that the idea of this course is in the right place, but it's not taught how it should be. Now the teacher is not to blame but more the developers of the idea. Nonetheless I like this course quite a lot. I especially love the fact that I can make movies.

A Post With Ten Words Including The Title

Catholics: Dominating Since 313 A.C.

Since I wasn't present for all the days on which we revised our knowledge on history, I can't accurately post this article, but why not right? It seems to me that if Catholic schools are publicly funded then all the other religious schools should also be funded by our taxes. Catholics seem to have this certain over dominating aspect about them that requires their religion to be funded. Don't get me wrong when I say Catholics I mean 'hard-core, hey I read the Bible eight times, my religions better, go screw yourself catholics and I'm merely stating that their religion is viewed as overpowering, based on certain facts from history. But should it be treated as something special? No. Will it be? Yes. Why? Because the majority of people in Canada are Catholic and they love to see their religion dominating all the other religions, not all catholics though, just certain ones. That's why they will remain publicly funded and other religious schools will get no special treatment whatsoever.

THIS IS A POEM

       Surfing through the golden wall,
sunday breakfast the morning fall
maybe its just time
maybe I can't learn
the unmistaken doubt upon me
on which I bide my turn
relying solely on my crooked brow
I jump upon the slowed crane
basking in the morning dew
for which I never came
this poem does not make much sense
but matters not the time it took
for each letter I place in feeling sense
upon you gaze another look!!!!

A Guest To The Class

I think the guest speaker did a wonderful job of presenting her book, the ones that were at fault were the ones without questions. After she was done reading the whole class had an awkward silence about it, forcing me to ask a question without being there when the sheet containing all the questions was made. Other then the awkwardness I though the whole idea of it was fabulous! Being a write sounded like a lot of fun but very stressful. I can not imagine having to think up of amazing ideas each time i needed to make money, my writing could not break through to the point where I make profit with it. Yet the idea of writing and doing something that you truly love severely grasps my attention, to the point where I question my future and think about becoming a writer. Although it doesn't seem like such a great idea writing would be completely amazing!

Hunger Games: The Movie

Countless critics are praising The Hunger Games movie, everyone thinks it's absolutely amazing, it's unfortunate that I disagree. The Hunger Games book was very well written, captivating, exciting, romantic, and had a strong message. Yet what the book was practically made of, the movie lacked. We start off the movie with an array of close up shots apparently done by a drunken camera-man, the shakiness was almost unbearable. As we continue throughout the movie no sight of Haymitch, the classic drunk, was seen, he didn't fall off the stage at any point thus not truly allowing the audience to grasp the true drunkenness that he portrayed in the book. Similar disappointments followed through the movie, I don't want to get carried away by all the unfortunate mishaps, but I just mostly want to state the complete and udder lack of any symbolic messages, the movie seamed to be more about the romance and less about the true message. Therefor the movie was merely just a profitable expense in my eyes, just a way to absorb more money.

Can Greatness Truly Be Seen?

Are people good or evil? This is question that countless people have put forth, yet no true answer can purely be recognized. None-the-less I will try to answer this question with the very limited information I have, and say that people are evil. If an example is needed then I have many that can be provided for one the Holocaust, this is a big one. The Holocaust demonstrates the pure hatred and sheer destructiveness in people, how one man can go about killing thousands of innocent people without even flinching.
And as well as the fact that people are slowly destroying the very thing that's keeping them alive: earth. Even now as I type vigorously  on my laptop I am demonstrating evilness, for something as simple and meaningless as school I am destroying the environment and do you think I'll stop typing? Well just the fact that your reading this post must answer your question.
Yes there are many ways people demonstrate there lack of empathy each day, this will continue to happen until humans die off, no doubt on our own causes. And all we have to show for it is factories that guzzle out toxic gases into the air, and large wastelands where we cut down all the agriculture we could get our greedy hands on.
People are completely evil, if you look around right now you will see many reasons why, your car, your computer, your furnace, your clothes, everything that you are made of is manufactured with evil. And we won't stop.

Flip Compilation 2011 HD

This is a video I made for christmas, basically summing up the entire summer before. It makes one crave sunshine, beaches, fresh grass, and basically summer. A very inspirational video in my eyes. I loved making it.

Racism The Next 'Big Thing'?

I recently read the article about how the two female students posted a video containing rather racist comments toward african americans. The real sickening thing about this article is the fact that many people saw this but didn't see anything wrong with it. I personally wonder why the principal didn't kick them out of school earlier, why it took so long for anyone to react. Maybe racism is beginning to seem okay again, like years of slavery never happened and it's a new concept dawning on people. People are starting to spew out racist comments not thinking twice about it "It's no big deal I know that guy." they'd say. But when does it turn from "I know that guy" to "he's just a stupid n*****". People have to start reacting faster and showing kids that racism is completely unacceptable. Everyone needs to try.

Nature's Buildings

This picture purely demonstrates how a natural and urban environment coexist and still give off their own little flare. Both can be beautiful and simple in their own way. Unfortunately the tree will grow to an enormous size and live a long prosperous life without humans, while our own creations will wither and die as time passes slowly. A picture can so so much with so little.

Looks Or Life?

I recently read the article containing information about kids focused primarily on their appearance, and was perplexed to learn that many kids post videos about this sort of subject. This certain fascination and total obsession with looks has completely overrun the media today, in many ways negatively. The fact that children at the age of 10 and over would post videos of themselves asking for opinions on how they look is completely shocking and utterly repulsive. Why does humanity seek such attention toward the way they look, what is so important about this sort of thing? Furthermore, this could make many children have a very low self-esteem and feel vulnerable and negative all the time. Always seeking for the opinion of others will only help you in social events, people have to learn to live with themselves despite the way their nose is shaped or how their hair looks.
It's obvious enough that humanity and future generations will just get worse and worse, more obsessed with how they are on the outside and not on the inside. The main cause is all the social media that's floating around, boggling up a child's thoughts, making them want to be what is so "hip" and "cool". Is it really "cool" to make yourself anorexic and coated with fake beauty? If parents and other such mature groups want to put a stop to this they must first stop the monster within themselves, rip out the attention greedy ego that lurks inside them and realize there are much more important things in life. Then and only then can you protect the children of our society and remove all kinds of negative media, throw out your glossy golden eye liner, your american apparel skinny jeans, your "ten quick tips on losing weight" magazine, and your chocolate scented body beads! And embellish yourself and your kids in the rich comfort of knowing that you are the best thing that you could be.

Fourth Graders Speak For The Trees

After reading the article about the power of fourth graders I realized how easy it is to change our world for the better. All it takes is people to be browsing online and skim past an online petition and then  sign it or click the 'I agree" button, to change the world. Especially 14 fourth grade kids, nobody would ever think that would be possible, but with the help of the internet and the website with all the petitions it can be achieved in less then a week. Proving that living in a democratic society can truly help our world for the better.

BOOK THAT I'M GOING TO DO

Hello, I have chosen the books that have intrigued me, but first I must point out the books that I was not taken with and I must point out their flaws in a purely academic way.
A Discovery Of Witches: This book was slightly too mystical for my tastes, Vampires and Witches are something that doesn't quite cut it.
Outliers: This book seamed a little boring for my tastes, just from reading the summary business giants, sports stars, and musicians are fine enough but not when there written about factually.
Now for the amazing part, there are two books that I really thought I'd like!
The Book Thief:  This book looked great because I like books a lot and I also enjoy the World War 2 theme that goes with it.
Lord Of The Flies: I think I would like this book because I have always been taken with books about survival, the wilderness, mystery, and a little bit of suspense to top it off.
The book that I have chosen is definitely Lord Of The Flies, mainly because of my utter fascination with people surviving in a situation that is life threatening.

A VIDEO: GRASS FLIPS

This video portrays how individuals can go beyond the limits, set goals, and have fun while being active. It shows kids that if they want, they can, and encourages them to stay fit and run around.

Euthanasia Is As Great As It Gets

Unfortunately most of the worlds population can't get this simple concept going! Lets think about this, "Grandpa" is dying, and not the kind of peaceful dying, the "in a lot of pain, holy balls I want to die faster" kind of dying. Now a very easy way to end all this suffering "Grandpa" is going through, is to simply "put him down", just like a cat or dog. Would you rather see your beloved Grandpa slip away painfully and in an agonizing state, or would you like him to pass away peacefully? All you have to do is give him a little more sleeping pills and then he's gone, very happily I might add. People take a look at this and the first thing they think is "That's not okay because it's still murder!", now as true as this is it can also be avoided by a very easy method. The Government gives Doctors, and numerous healthcare experts the right to "put down" anyone that is in a state of severe suffering and/or is near death. That way a random person can just barge in and kill someone, then state it was for that person, so he wouldn't suffer. As well as the fact that doctors have many ways to exterminate people very painlessly and comfortably that many people at home have no option to. So, Doctors have control of the situation and only people who are near death and in a lot of pain have an easy way out. Simple, effective, comfortable, and easy to handle, this is clearly the way to go in handling any sort of uncomfortable situation such as painful death experiences.

People Need New Limits

Kids theses days?! As time goes on less and less boundaries are provided for children, leaving them torn of what seems right and what seems wrong. If society truly wants to advance then they should learn that my generation and lower then my lacks respect of anyone but themselves. Although beating or hitting kids is completely out of the question, that doesn't mean discipline of a sort is out of order. Some kids at the age of 8 or so when they do something wrong they get at most a talking too. Something like that purely doesn't set in too a young child. There needs to be a new more improved way of disciplinary actions toward kids or just plain people that are immature and downright bratty. So the answer is harder discipline or an alternative? I'll let you decide.

Its Okay To Be Gay

Same-sex marriage should be undoubtedly legal. this is Canada and 2012, free speech and free will have been allowed for decades! The fact that pushing religion onto people is allowed and same-sex marriage isn't is just unacceptable. If the majority of the population was homosexuals then opposite-sex marriages wouldn't be allowed. The reasons are purely unjust. Just because the Bible says homosexuality isn't right doesn't mean it's true, especially with more and more people becoming atheist. People must start to accept everyone for who they are, or else there will not be anyone to accept. These are the reasons why same-sex marriage should be legalized!

Marijuana: Safer Than You Think

Marijuana should not be legalised! Take it from someone who has had personal affairs with this substance. If Marijuana is legalized the cost would sky rocket, going up to easily thousands of dollars. Right now great produce costs about 10-20 dollars a gram, that's because people wouldn't pay any more for something a random man grew and for something that could get you fined, If "weed: was legalized crappy "erb" would cost about $40 per gram and great "refer: would go up to $1000 per gram. Not to mention the incredibly long wait to get it, since it would be in such high demand there would be lines longer then lines in the bathroom of an all you can eat buffet. As well kids wouldn't want it any more. Children get into illegal things for the rush and the excitement, but not because their dad's into it. Since everyone is smoking kids would get into crack or some other illegal substance rather then stick with the very safe and not very harmful "chiba". That is why marijuana should be illegal.
